James Nathanial
1989 ~ 2006

Our beloved James passed away June 12, 2006, from injuries sustained while hiking. James was born March 29, 1989, in New Orleans, LA., to John Nathanial and Elizabeth Erin ____ ____. James was so full of life. He was adventurous, fun, and curious. He attended Brighton High School, where he ran on the cross-country and track teams. He also played rugby for the Skyline High team, which gave him great joy. He was a dedicated and driven Honor Roll student. He loved the outdoors, and often sought the peace and serenity of nature. He was tall, and ruggedly handsome. A loyal and loving friend, all were drawn to his kind and accepting nature. His friends helped him to become the person that he was. James was a son any parent would be grateful to call their own. He is so loved. He is the second of five children. James and his three brothers adored each other, and spent many happy hours together. A tighter band of brothers could not be found. His baby sister Libby Mei, adopted from China, and home for only 12 days prior to his death, had already fallen in love with James and would do almost anything to make him laugh, which he did readily. James was actively preparing to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and demonstrated integrity and honor in all that he did. James is survived by his parents, brothers, John William (currently serving in the Canada Montreal French-speaking Mission), Tanner Rich and Marshall Kent, baby sister, Libby Mei, his grandparents, John Nathanial and Carolyn ____ ____, Robert S. and Faun ____ ____, and many aunts, uncles and cousins, all of whom love and admire him. His grandfather William Kay ____ and his grandmother Joyce ____ ____preceded him in death. A viewing will be held Friday evening, June 16, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., and Saturday morning from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., at the ____ ____ Stake Center. A funeral service will be Saturday, June 17, 11:00 a.m. at the Stake Center, with Bishop Conway ____ presiding. Condolences may be sent to www.celebratinglife-__.com Our family would like to thank the members of the ____ ____ County Sheriff's Office and the ____ ____ County Search and Rescue Team for their courage, dedication, professionalism and sensitivity in the rescue and recovery effort. Contributions can be made in James' name to his sister's orphanage in China @ www.yiyangfund.org.

Still painful to read...

I have no words. It is only now, after having a child myself, that I can imagine your pain.

What a beautiful portrait of his life. My brother lost his son when we were in China. It has been hard to watch him grieve. I am so amazed by your grace as you deal with your great loss.
